The Philippines has amassed a total of 22 medals and 14 merit awards from the International Talent Mathematics Competition (ITMC) held at Thammasart University, Bangkok Thailand on February 8-12, 2019.
A total of 700 students from different countries joined the competition. Among the participating teams were Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam,
The 45-member Filipino team selected from grades 2 to 10 wrapped up the competition with 1 silver medal, 21 bronze medals and 14 merit awards.
The sole silver medal for the Philippines was a courtesy of Xavier Blue M. Castro, Grade 4 from St. John’s Institute.
