Six Filipino students achieve big feats in CREST English Olympiad
There are ways that when practiced consistently will improve immensely one’s English skills. However, this is what most people would advise: read. Read anything and everything in English. It could be this fine reading habit, which placed six Filipino students in the headlines for the clean sweep in the Level 2 (Final Round) of the 2020 CREST English Olympiad held on January 16, 2021.
Leading the participants from 16 countries and territories in their grade groups are six Filipino top-notchers who earned the coveted spots in the CREST English Olympiad. Stepping into the limelight, as the biggest winners are Claire Mitzi Y. Acosta, grade 5, from St. Jude Catholic School (International Rank 1) and Marie Nicole Andrea Q. Vinas, grade 9, from Xavier University Junior High School, (International Rank 1).
Trailing behind are Lineth Julia B. Muldez, grade 9, from Manila Science High School (International Rank 2); and the following whiz kids, who made it in the international rank 3 are Alyana Andrea L. Rigor, grade 4, from St. Pedro Poveda College; Annika Elise Y. Ng, grade 8 and Stephanie Rae Lai, grade 10, from Immaculate Conception Academy – Greenhills. Each of these prizewinners will receive achiever’s trophy and merit certificate.
