Filipinos win 114 medals and awards in Hong Kong
The country's finest math wizards had proven anew their number prowess by reaping a whopping 83 medals and 31 merit awards in the recently concluded 2018 Hong Kong International Mathematics Competition (HKIMC) held in Hong Kong on August 31 to September 2, 2018, placing the Philippines third in the overall standing. The HKIMC drew more than 600 participants from the following countries: Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Ukraine. Please be informed that the orientation meeting for the participants and delegates of the Olympic Mathematics 3D Cup Pan-Asia Pacific International Invitation Competition 2018 shall be at Philippine Cultural College - Main Campus, J. Abad Santos Ave., Tondo, Manila with the following date and time: For NCR and nearby areas participants: 8AM to 11AM, Saturday, June 23, 2018. For Provincial participants: 1PM to 4PM, Thursday, June 28, 2018. All members of the Philippine delegation are advised to bring both Phil BrainPower Soc and Skyworth deposit slips to avoid inconvenience.
PBPS to hold TIMO in the Philippines
That’s right, the Philippine Brain Power Society (PBPS) brings to all math wizards in the country the challenging and interesting math correspondence competition, the Thailand International Mathematics Olympiad (TIMO). The good news is it is open to all students of all grade levels from the kindergarten group and primary level (grades 1 to 6) to secondary group (grades 7 to 10) and senior high level (grades 11 and 12).
